Setting Up & Sharing Your Models

1. What is the difference between public and private models?

Public models can be accessed by anyone with a link, while private models are limited to authorized users only.

2. How can I share a public model?

You can share a public model by sharing its URL.

3. How can I share a private model?

There are multiple ways to share a private model, such as link sharing. For more information, please visit our Help Center.

4. Can I restrict access to my embedded ShapeDiver models?

ShapeDiver does not offer dedicated tools specifically designed to prevent unauthorized viewing of embedded models on publicly accessible pages. However, this can be achieved with standard web development solutions that can be added on top of the ShapeDiver model. This is a custom development that ShapeDiver does not offer.

5. What is App Builder?

App Builder is our UI-builder framework. It’s part of the ShapeDiver plugin for Grasshopper, which allows users to create flexible, customizable single-page 3D web applications using only Grasshopper.

6. Why is App Builder different from the regular model view interface?

App Builder allows Grasshopper designers much more control over the final web application's logic, layout, and content. The interface’s logic and organization can be controlled through components of the ShapeDiver plugin for Grasshopper. Custom interface elements such as images, text panels, charts, and graphs can also be defined entirely parametrically inside Grasshopper.

7. Is there a way to create custom user interfaces with ShapeDiver?

Yes. Depending on the level of control you need, you can create custom user interfaces using our Viewer API or using only Grasshopper through the App Builder feature. Visit our Help Center to learn more.

8. How do I configure pricing options using ShapeDiver?

Pricing options can be configured in various ways, depending on the type of online configurator being developed. For specific details and assistance with your project, it's recommended that you contact the team through our Support Forum.
